So many of the best things in life you must wait for. You can’t have them instantly or it would end up being less special.
For example, it you’re a coffee drinker, you can make a pot of coffee in about ten minutes. Not much of a wait. And maybe that makes drinking coffee more of a habit than a treat. I suppose that we all might feel differently if it took two months to brew a single cup of coffee.
Of course, there are lots of other things you don’t have to wait long for, and they are still special. But the big things in life takes time. Christmas, a job promotion, getting your new house ready to move in to, and possibly the most special thing (at least to us authors) is writing a book. A good book doesn’t happen overnight. Months, and sometimes even years, are put into a single book (as well as an uncountable number of cups of coffee). But when the book is finished and you’re holding the end result in your hands, it makes every single waiting minute worth it.
The only bad thing is, no sooner do you finish waiting for one thing, when there comes something else in your life to wait for. One book edited and formatted, and a dozen others begging you for attention. Sigh. Such is the life of an author.
Happy waiting, everyone! 🙂
